Diverse Perspectives on Knowledge Mobilization: A GIER Webinar

By Virginia Capmourteres

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a GIER webinar on “Diverse Perspectives on Knowledge Mobilization” on Wednesday, February 10th from 11:00 am to noon EST.

Our panelists will be Caroline Duvieusart-Dery, Georgia Simms, and Tommy Mayberry, and we will be discussing creative ways to mobilize interdisciplinary environmental research.

You can register (FREE) here or email us at info.gier@uoguelph.ca. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Webinar description: We have long known that we need to mobilize research knowledge more creatively if we wish to tackle ‘wicked’ environmental problems and put research into practice. Increasingly siloed disciplines, a disconnect between arts and science, and a lack of engagement and equity in academia and society jeopardize our capacity to collaboratively respond to environmental crises in a creative, innovative, and equitable way. This webinar brings fresh and novel perspectives on knowledge mobilization to enrich environmental conversations. Join the Guelph Institute for Environmental Research (GIER), in partnership with Food from Thought, as we discuss with experts how critical community engagement, arts, and diversity and inclusion perspectives can advance the way we think, do, and mobilize interdisciplinary environmental research.
