Thematic Working Groups

GIER is interested in developing thematic working groups with interdisciplinary teams, enabling collaborations between the brightest minds in environmental research, and bringing the disciplines together to tackle the worlds most pressing and complex environmental problems. These working groups will further GIER’s mission to accelerate discoveries and applications that will enhance our understanding of the environment, benefit Canadians and people globally, and transform Guelph into a global centre for the study of the environment.

These interdisciplinary thematic working groups will explore broad, cross-cutting areas of environmental research such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, urbanization, pollution, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, and more.

If you have an idea for a thematic working group, please contact us at: info.gier@uoguelph.ca
