COVID-19 and the Environment

  • GIER Webinar “COVID-19, the Environment, and You” (June 25, 2020)

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to dramatically change our behaviour, and these changes have had important ripple effects on our environment. But what do these changes mean for the environment at large and for our long-term sustainable development goals? While there are some ‘silver linings’ for the environment, these may not stand the test of time. Nevertheless, the pandemic comes with new lessons to be learned about our relationship with the environment. And if we pay close attention, they might help us imagine and therefore achieve a more sustainable future. In this webinar, three GIER affiliates discuss and analyze the environmental dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
