Our senior research scientist Dr. Swaroop Sasidharanpillai travelled to Prague, Czech Republic, to present at the 2025 Goldschmidt Conference. As described on their website, "Goldschmidt is the foremost annual, international conference on geochemistry and related subjects, organized by the European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society.
Group members Dr. Swaroop S. (senior researcher), Dr. Alexander Kalintsev (PDF), Sam Binkley (PhD student) and Brendan Carson (MSc student) attended this year's CSC in Ottawa. It was a time for sharing our research, networking for new opportunities, and even re-uniting with past Tremaine group members! There was even a talk on the Raman spectroscopy of maple syrup... Tremaine group MSc. candidates Haven and Kelvin recently travelled to Ottawa to attend the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) Conference as part of their program (April 15-17 2025). During the conference, they had the opportunity to connect with industry representatives from major nuclear companies and organizations, gaining valuable insights into the current and future direction of the industry. Throughout the conference, we attended talks focused on innovations in nuclear energy and engaged with fellow students working on exciting research projects in the nuclear field. The experience was informative and inspiring as it highlighted the diverse opportunities available within the nuclear industry.

In Nov 2024, Tremaine group Ph.D. candidate Sam Binkley travelled to Germany to present at the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) Global Forum Rising Stars Workshop.
Congratulations to Tremaine group M.Sc. Candidate Kelvin Olivares, who was awarded the 2nd place Poster Prize at the recent UNENE 2024 R&D workshop.

Tremaine group was well-represented at UNENE's annual conference and workshop, which was held on Dec 9-11 in Toronto. The University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE) is an organization founded on the principle of collaboration and knowledge transfer between universities and the nuclear energy industry across Canada. They're also a funding partner of the Tremaine research group at UoG. The annual Workshop is the organization's premier event, bringing together industry stakeholders, professors, and students from across the country for a program of talks, posters, panel discussions, and networking.
Tremaine Group PhD candidate Samantha Binkley recently won the Women in Nuclear (WiN) Canada's Graduate Scholarship. As a result, she was an invited attendee of WiN Canada's annual conference, which was held on Oct 20-23, 2024 in Niagara Falls ON.
