Lab supervisor Nathan attended the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Convention and Contest in Denver in July as a singer in Voices Unlimited, a new group of musicians from Ontario and New York state. The convention featured quartets and choruses from around the world.
Tremaine group MSc. candidates Haven and Kelvin recently travelled to Ottawa to attend the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) Conference as part of their program (April 15-17 2025). During the conference, they had the opportunity to connect with industry representatives from major nuclear companies and organizations, gaining valuable insights into the current and future direction of the industry. Throughout the conference, we attended talks focused on innovations in nuclear energy and engaged with fellow students working on exciting research projects in the nuclear field. The experience was informative and inspiring as it highlighted the diverse opportunities available within the nuclear industry.

Tremaine group was well-represented at UNENE's annual conference and workshop, which was held on Dec 9-11 in Toronto. The University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE) is an organization founded on the principle of collaboration and knowledge transfer between universities and the nuclear energy industry across Canada. They're also a funding partner of the Tremaine research group at UoG. The annual Workshop is the organization's premier event, bringing together industry stakeholders, professors, and students from across the country for a program of talks, posters, panel discussions, and networking.
