Tremaine group M.Sc. candidate Jason Yap was honoured as October 2024 TA of the Month. According to first-year Chemistry Lab Coordinator Dara Schaefer:
Jason Yap, the newest graduate student in the Tremaine Group, is accepting a prestigious award this week for success in his undergraduate program at University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM).

Tremaine Group PhD candidate Samantha Binkley recently won the Women in Nuclear (WiN) Canada's Graduate Scholarship. As a result, she was an invited attendee of WiN Canada's annual conference, which was held on Oct 20-23, 2024 in Niagara Falls ON.
A joint meeting of the Technical Advisory Committees for two research programs funded by the University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE) and other industrial partners was held on Campus at the University of Guelph on May 15, 2024.

Last week, Tremaine Group co-op student Heather Robertson presented a poster with her work from the past semester at the department's Undergrad Poster Session. The poster was called "Measuring Partial Molar Properties using Calorimetry and Densimetry", and summarizes her work from the first of two co-op semesters she is spending with our group working with PhD candidate Samantha Binkley.

Members of the Tremaine Group attended the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO)'s 5th annual Academic Tour on June 11, 2024. The organization has been charged with constructing a Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for long-term storage of used nuclear fuel in Canada. Representatives from many academic institutions in Canada were in attendance.
